2020 Stayin' Alive

Merlot is back and stayin' alive! We LOVE the variety and made ours reminiscent of the early California Merlots that should have never gone out of style. These premier grapes come from an old planting on one acre at 1600' elevation in the Templeton Gap, leading to a structurally beautiful wine with a lot of depth. On the nose, vibrant notes of cranberry and cassis, cooling eucalyptus, with intriguing cigar box and cedar. Currant, chocolate truffles, cardamom and ginger snap cookie dance on the palate. A finish of bay leaf, freshly tilled soil and cocoa powder. Pair with al pastor tacos or a beef ragu pasta! This classically beautiful Merlot will only get better over the next 4-8 years
